What will happen at your HCHS/SOL clinic visit?
At their scheduled clinic visit, HCHS/SOL Participants will receive medical exams FREE of cost and a copy of all test results.
The medical exams include:
After the clinic visit, participants will be contacted once a year for three years to provide us with updates on their health and contact information.
All participant information will be kept confidential.
The Miami Field Center Clinic
Participants will have their one-day examination, including the administration of questionnaires, scheduled at our health clinic, and - FREE lunch and transportation to the clinic and back home will be provided!
This brand new clinic, built just for this study, is located in the Clinical Research Building (CRB) at the University of Miami Medical Campus. The clinical space for the HCHS/SOL is located on the 7th floor of the CRB, within the Behavioral Medicine Research Center. This includes 10 dedicated rooms specifically designed for HCHS/SOL interactions with participants. Adequate parking is available on site, and the CRB is in close proximity to public transportation including the Metrorail, buses, and taxis.

- Measurements of height, weight, and percent body fat
- Electrocardiogram
- Blood pressure test
- Lung function test
- Hearing test
- Dental examination
- Blood and urine tests
- Diabetes test
- Nutritional assessment
- At-home physical activity monitoring
- At-home sleep study
